Sport’s Unique Value as a Tool for Development
The concept of Sport for Development is rooted in the recognition that sport possesses unique attributes that enable it to contribute to development. These attributes include:
Universal popularity – transcending of national, cultural, socio-economic and political boundaries, when done right, sport is enjoyable for participants and spectators alike and can be invoked in virtually any community in the world.
Capacity as a powerful global communications platform – Because sport events offer the capacity to reach vast numbers of people, they are effective platforms for public education & social mobilization.

Our organisation believes that each and every human being is endowed with limitless potential and that each and every one of us has the ability to become whoever they want to be in life. As such, limitless possibilities is a theme that cuts across all our program activities, we strive to inform the young people we work with and the communities around us they can create or be change that they want to see in their lives and that of their families and communities.
We also try to make them understand that change may not be an easy thing to achieve and there will be obstacles, some seemingly impossible, ontheir way but as long as they remain consistent in their quest and committed to their cause, eventually they will get there. Throughout our work, we are guided by our organisational values that keeps us on course and guide our work and involvement with the great community of donors, beneficiaries and communities around us.
Our 5 values are as follows:
We welcome all children to join our programs without being judgmental about who they are or what they have done or discriminating them on the basis of their tribe, religion or gender. We teach them to be kind to others hoping to bring up a generation which understands that people matter.
We believe that the past, is a seat in the future. During our training activities, the youths we work with are in constant state of reflection on their past and desired future. We believe that it is important that they remember where they come from and the challenges they face in working towards what they want to become in the future.
Most of the children and youths we work not only lack most of the basic needs but also have to live with all sorts of inadequacies. As such, having to engage in a vigorous athletic training requires them to work out of their comfort zone all the time.
Providing training equipment and coaching is useful for the development of young athletes, but simply not enough; the desire to succeed amongst the youths we work with is paramount to the success of our work. In everything that we do, we strive to motivate the kids and build a burning desire to succeed inside them. Our organization believes that while providing assistance to the less fortunate is a good thing and so is providing running shoes or trying to teach a bunch of kids how to run, but most importantly; we need to keep them motivated enough to achieve their goals. Motivation is a theme that drives across all our programs.
We believe in the ability of the children we work with to make life altering decisions informed but what we teach them; and we trust them to make the right decisions and do the right thing. In return, they trust our staff to help them when they need help with anything or when they need someone to listen to them and advise them. This mutual trust between our staff and youths/children benefiting from our work is the foundation of our progress and the bond that binds us together.
